Carolyn Burns Retires
Carolyn Burns, Member Services/Public Relations, for Wood County Electric Cooperative retired on January 4, 2007.
Carolyn wore many hats during her 18 years of service to WCEC and in the local and co-op communities. She began working for WCEC in August of 1988 as a Dispatcher. After that it wasn’t long before Carolyn was promoted to Member Services/Public Relations.
In this role, Carolyn’s primary duty was to make sure WCEC was represented well in the local community through conducting safety demonstrations, educating the public on topics such as energy conservation, and making sure that WCEC members were informed and up to date on the latest co-op information. She also assisted in developing advertising campaigns including bill stuffers, newspaper ads, and the ever popular Texas Co-op Power local pages.
Carolyn said, “She will really miss the daily interaction with her co-workers and the many friends she has made in the local and co-op communities through the years, but looks forward to spending more time with her grand kids and family.”
“Carolyn helped WCEC fulfill its role in the cooperative principle, “Commitment to Community” in every project she took on. WCEC and our community will miss Carolyn’s involvement in the many service projects she worked with,” said Debbie Robinson, CEO/General Manager.
The employees and management of WCEC thank Carolyn for her years of dedicated service and wish her a very happy retirement.
