WCEC Announces ETREYS Scholarship Winners
Wood County Electric Cooperative awarded scholarships to three students at the 2006 East Texas Rural Electric Youth Seminar held at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, June 26-30. The recipients are Anthony Bernardelli, Seth Thomas and Rebecca Jackson.
Anthony, a Lindale high school student and son of Brian and Shelley Bernardelli, won a $750 scholarship. Anthony was also chosen by his peers to represent WCEC at the 2007 seminar.
Seth Thomas also won a $750 scholarship. He is a Quitman high school student and son of Cliff and Nancy Thomas.
Rebecca Jackson attends Big Sandy high school student and seh was awarded a $500 scholarship. She is the daughter of Russell and Inga Jackson.
The East Texas Rural Electric Youth Seminar is designed to foster positive ideas and values among young people, enhance leadership skills, and teach cooperative philosophy. WCEC and eight other east Texas cooperatives sponsor the event annually.
Wood County Electric Cooperative serves over 31,000 meters in nine counties throughout northeast Texas including Camp, Franklin, Hopkins, Rains, Smith, Titus, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood County.
