WCEC Welcomes Country Manor and Richmar Circle Subdivisions

Wood County Electric Cooperative would like to welcome the residents of two Smith County subdivisions to its family. Country Manor and Richmar Circle subdivisions are located off FM 849 just south of Lindale. These residential communities are adjacent to the Timberline Baptist Camp that switched over from TXU to WCEC last year. The switchover was accomplished primarily through the efforts of Jeff Head, who lives in Country Manor. It was Jeff who spearheaded the effort to sign all his neighbors up in both developments.

TXU chose not to remove their facilities in the subdivisions so they might retain their presence. For this reason WCEC opted to build underground facilities in each subdivision. It took WCEC employees three days, in coordination with TXU employees, to make the actual switchover. WCEC had to dig up each underground service and reroute it into its transformer. The date the switchover occurred was September 14, 15 & 18, but was preceded by several weeks of careful planning, construction and working with the homeowners before the switchover event.

WCEC welcomes the residents of Country Manor and Richmar Circle. We look forward to serving the needs of these subdivisions to the best our ability just as we have served all of our member's since 1938!
