Scholarships
Annually, Wood County Electric Cooperative awards college scholarships to high school seniors and adult learners throughout our service area. For 2011 there were 10 $2,000 Power My World scholarships available for any course of study, and one $5,000 scholarship specifically for electrical engineering students in their junior year of college.  These scholarships are available to members and dependents of members that are full time residents in WCEC’s 9-county service territory.  Annual Scholarship applications including rules and regulations are available at the cooperative, and on this website.  Application are due by Arpil 2, 2012.

Qualified applicants must completely fill out the official application and meet all requirements including submitting their completed application by the posted deadline.  Those that do not meet the deadline will not be considered.  A panel of independent judges, made up of members, will review and score the applications, with the highest scorers earning the scholarships.  Criteria considered includes a student’s diversification of skills/hobbies/interests, their past civic and volunteer efforts, financial needs, demonstrated leadership attributes, and grade point average.
