Annually, Wood County Electric Cooperative awards college scholarships to high school seniors and adult learners throughout our service area. For 2017, there are ten $2,000 Power My World scholarships available to high school seniors for any course of study, three $2,000 scholarship available to adult learners, and one $5,000 scholarship specifically for electrical engineering students in their junior year of college. These scholarships are available to members and dependents of members that are full time residents in WCEC’s 9-county service territory. Power My World Scholarship Terms and Conditions

Wood County Electric Cooperative (WCEC) will award three $2,000 scholarships on the basis of the information provided in the completed application, and the quality and thoroughness of the required essay. Other qualifications include:

  1. Applicant must be a dependent of full time active member with WCEC service for at least six months prior to the application deadline.
  2. Applicant must reside primarily at an address served by WCEC.
  3. Completed applications are due on April 7, 2017.
  4. Applicants that do not follow all instructions or late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  5. All judging will be completed by an independent panel made up of WCEC Members.

Power My World Engineering Scholarship Terms and Conditions

  1. Applicant must be a dependent of full time active member with WCEC service for at least six months prior to the application deadline.
  2. Applicant must reside primarily at an address served by WCEC.
  3. Applicant must be accepted into an accredited engineering program
  4. Completed applications are due on April 7, 2017.
  5. Applicants that do not follow all instructions or late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  6. All judging will be completed by an independent panel made up of WCEC Members.

Power Upward Scholarship Terms and Conditions

  1. Applicant must be a  full time active member with WCEC service for at least six months prior to the application deadline.
  2. Applicant must reside primarily at an address served by WCEC.
  3. Applicant must be 21  or older and must be an active member or member spouse living on WCEC’s system
  4. Applicant must be accepted in a college or other post-secondary school with a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester.
  5. Completed applications are due on November 15, 2017.
  6. Applicants that do not follow all instructions or late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  7. All judging will be completed by an independent panel made up of WCEC Members.
  8. Applicant cannot previously have won a scholarship from WCEC.
